The insurance cover meets at least the requirements of Section 51 of the German Federal Lawyers’ Act (BRAO).

The professional title „Rechtsanwalt“ (Attorney-at-Law) is awarded in Germany after a formal admission process. The responsible supervisory authority is: Rechtsanwaltskammer Düsseldorf, Freiligrathstraße 25, 40479 Düsseldorf, Germany.

The lawyers practise their profession in accordance with the provisions of the German Federal Lawyers’ Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung – BRAO) and the Professional Code of Conduct for Lawyers (Berufsordnung für Rechtsanwälte – BORA). In addition, the Code of Conduct for European Lawyers issued by the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) applies.

Statutory legal fees are governed by the German Lawyers’ Remuneration Act (Rechtsanwaltsvergütungsgesetz – RVG). Fees based on time spent are determined in accordance with the applicable client agreement.

Dispute Resolution (Lawyers)

In case of disputes between lawyers and their clients, the option of out-of-court dispute resolution exists.
Competent authorities are:
• The local Bar Association (pursuant to Section 73 (2) No. 3, Section 73 (5) BRAO)
• The Arbitration Board of the German Federal Bar (Section 191f BRAO), accessible via www.brak.de or schlichtungsstelle@brak.de.

Consumer Dispute Resolution (Section 36 VSBG)
